Description

Have you felt lately that you ought to be more at ease when asked to talk about your work, your ideas, your venture? After all this is what makes you tick and should be a joy to share with your audience.

As trainees and professionals in any discipline and industry, we are expected to be able to articulate what we do and why, to anyone, experts or not. The purpose can vary but the end result is the same; you win your audience or you don’t!

Join us for the second workshop of ACE Saturdays 2019 - BioEscalator Business Toolkit to explore and practice effective pitching. The workshop will help participants translate technical concepts into something that is easily conveyed to and understood by your audience; non-experts, collaborators, investors.

The workshop will cover:

  • Understanding your audience;
  • Establishing your authority;
  • Creating your message, including a key call to action;
  • What to put in an investor pitch deck;
  • Preparing for the pitch;
  • Delivery, including personal presentation styles.

 led by facilitator Megan Morys-Carter.

You will leave with a structured process for preparing a pitch to investors, an understanding of the elements that make a great pitch, and insights into your own personal style.

To get the most out of the session, bring along a short slide deck about your business or a slide deck for your next pitch, so that you can apply the lessons directly to your own material.  A case study will be available if you don't have anything suitable.
